Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru are a branch of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Belur, Howrah West Bengal, India and are worldwide, non-political, non-sectarian spiritual organizations which have been engaged in various forms of humanitarian, social service activities for more than a century.
Inspired by the ideals of renunciation and service, the monks and lay devotees of the Math and Mission serve millions of men, women and children, without any distinction of caste, religion or race, because they see the living God in them.

Karnataka Govt.
Rajyothsava Award - 2021
Recognizing the yeomen service done to the society, Karnataka State Government bestowed upon Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru the highest civilian award of the state, the Rajyotsava Award of 2021-22. The year being 75th anniversary of our nations independence, the award is rightly named as Amrith Mahotsava Award. The award with such name is special as it coincides with the Amrith Mahotsava of the Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru also.
The award is a recognition of service activities of Math, mainly Swaccha Mangaluru Abhiyaan, a cleanliness drive conducted in the city of Mangaluru from 2014-2019 for 5 years. Without an breaks, every Sunday volunteers gathered together in any of the designated spot of the city to clean up the area and spread awareness among citizen. The activities spanned cleaning up blackspots, beatifying footpaths, wall painting, rejuvenating gardens, beatifying and maintaining parking spots, underbridges, distribution and awareness of pot composting etc. The program involved nearly 4000 volunteers who enjoyed and learned from the program.

Swachh Mangaluru
The Swacha Bharath Abhiyan was a clarion call given by our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendera Modi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in the year 2014. On 26th September 2014, the Govt. of India sent a letter of appeal to the Ramakrishna Mission requesting active participation in the Abhiyan.
The headquarters of the Ramakrishna mission at Belur Math, West Bengal sent instructions to the Math to take up the campaign and inspire the devotees, the volunteers and the people of Mangaluru to take part in the cleanliness drive.
