Vivekananda Vrikshalaya

Our Ashram set a unique precedent by initiating a new concept of urban forests in Mangalore to protect & preserve nature with biodiversity and to promote local flora and much-needed green cover in the city.

Ashrama has set up Mangaluru’s first Miyawakis along with 2 other Miyawaki urban forests in Mangalore city under the project title “Vivekananda Vrikshalaya”, two of which are on the Ashrama campus itself. In about 10 cents of land in the Ashrama, 54 varieties of 500 saplings have been planted. This was inaugurated on the 2nd of October 2020.
