Mangalore Ramakrishna Math had organized Shraddha – Seminar on Values for Post Graduate Students on the 11th September 2014.
The day’s programme commenced with the invocation of Vedic hymns.
Sri Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Mangalore and Dr N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University, Mangalore inaugurated the Seminar- Shraddha. Dr N Vinay Hegde said “Self confidence is the most needed thing in the life. You can achieve even impossible goal if you have confidence.” in his Inaugural address.
Swami Jitakamanandaji, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Mangalore in his Keynote address reminded the students that they have the responsibility of building their character.
Swami Sarvapriyanandaji interacted with the students on ‘Self-Management: Modern Positive Psychology and Ancient Wisdom’. Swami Mangalanathanandaji spoke on ‘Shraddha: Key to Success’ and Prof Raghothama Rao discussed the topic, ‘Communication Skills’.

Around 550 students participated in the seminar. Complementary books were distributed at the end of the programme along with customized pens, notepads, certificates etc. All the delegates were served lunch, snacks and tea.

The Workshop started with Vedic chanting, followed by the Keynote address of Swami Jitakamanandaji, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Mangalore on the 10th September 2014.
Chairman and Managing Director of KIOCL, Bangalore, Sri Malay Chatterjee inaugurated the programme. In the inaugural address he pointed out that the present education system lacks the spiritual touch of the knowledge of the Rishis. Hence Education needs Value inculcation to protect family system, society and our country.
Swami Muktidanandaji, Trustee Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission and Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysore distributed the scholarships to the needy on behalf of Mangalore Ashrama. He said, “Personality should be divinity centered, not self centered, and education should kindle the Medha in the pupil.”
Dr K Devraj, Director, SDM Management Studies and Research Institute, Mangalore also spoke on the occasion.
Swami Sarvapriyanandaji interacted with the students on ‘Self-Control and Concentration: Two powerful ideas from Swami Vivekananda’s Philosophy of Education’. Sri Suresh Kulkarni spoke on ‘Effective Teaching Skill’ and Prof Raghothama Rao discussed the topic, ‘Presentation Skills’.

Around 500 B.Ed. students took part in the whole day workshop. All the delegates were distributed snacks, lunch, customized notepads, pens, complimentary booklets and certificates.
