Ramakrishna Mission had initiated 40 weeks’ Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan on special request from Govt. of India on 1st February 2015. Since then under the aegis of Ashram, thousands of volunteers, students, youths and general public have undertaken this cleanliness drive for the last 34 weeks in different parts of the city. This Abhiyan has won the accolades of one and all given its nature.
As we enter the 35th consecutive week on 17th January 2016, we invite one and all to join us at 7.30 am at Marnamikatta Circle for the Swacchata Abhiyan. Swami Balabhadranandaji, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrsihna Mission, Belur Math & Sri N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University will be jointly flagging off the drive.
The concluding programme of the 35th Drive will be held at Swami Vivekananda Auditorium at Ramakrishna Math, Mangaladevi, Mangaluru at 10.30 am on the 17th January. Sadhvi Uma Bharti ji, Hon. Minister for Water Resources, Govt. of India will be inaugurating the programme and addressing the audience. Swami Balabhadranandaji will also be addressing the audience followed by Sri Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP & Sri Kumar H, MD, MRPL, Mangaluru.

Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru is organizing Special Seminar on “Effective Life Management” on the occasion of 153rd Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda on the 13th January 2016.
The programme commences at about 9 am with registration followed by inaugural session. Swami Shuddhidanandaji of Advaita Ashrama, Kolkata, Dr. Vivek Modi of Hyderabad & Prof. Raghothama Rao, Human Networking Academy, Bangalore are the resource persons.

Ramakrishna Mission, Mangalore has organized Residential youth camp for rural youth between age group 17-30 from 24th to 27th December.
The participating youths have to register their names beforehand by paying a nominal entry fee of Rs. 100/- and fill up the registration form before 15th December 2015. The medium will be Kannada. Participating delegates will be addressed by various resource persons on several issues pertaining to youths on topics like national regeneration, personality development, values etc. Registration forms can be had from Ashrama office.

Viveka Kirana – Value Based Education for College Lecturers.
The programme organised on 21-09-2013 Saturday was attended by College Lectures from different colleges of Dakshina Kannada District.
In all around 1200 Lecturers and 2500 students participated in the programme series Viveka Samsmarana. Every student was given a complimentary book and a poster of Swami Vivekananda & every Lecturer was given with a set of books on value education and a poster of Swami Vivekananda.
Viveka Chaitanya – Personality Development Camp for Post Graduate Students & Scholarship Distribution
The programme was held at Vivekananda Sabhangana, Ramakrishna Math, Mangalore on 16-09-2013 Monday. Post Graduate Students from different colleges of Dakshina Kannada District attended the programme.
On this occasion total scholarship of worth Rs 1.25 lac was distributed among 80 meritorious students.
Swami Vivekananda wanted each of us to be lions. In an attempt to manifest the lions within and to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Icon of India, Swami Vivekananda , our Ashrama is organising a series of programmes, “Viveka Samsmarana” – from 16th to 21st September 2013 at Vivekananda Auditorium, Ramakrishna Matha, Mangaladevi, Mangalore.

Antaryoga – One day spiritual retreat was a great success. Talks by Revered Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj and Swami Yukteshanandaji was appreciated by all. Samskrita Geeta Ramayanam – Audio Visual presentation of Story of Ramayanam in Sanskrit songs and Kannada narration for two and half hours by 19 famous singers, accompanists, narrators etc – got huge applauds from the audience. Total 450 people attended the function and took break fast, lunch and tea-snacks.

H.H. Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj (Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Chennai and Senior Trustee, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math) will be visiting Mangalore from 8th August to 11th August 2013.
During his stay here he will be meeting the devotees from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm.

Ideal Guru and Ideal Disciple” By Revered Swami Gautamananda ji Maharaj
In the wake of the unprecedented devastation caused by cloud-burst and flash floods in a major portion of Uttarakhand, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math has undertaken relief work in the affected areas through its Kankhal (Haridwar) centre.
A relief camp has been established at a place called Agastya Muni, about 25 kms from Rudra Prayag. Dry food packets (each packet containing a loaf of bread, rusk, puri, pickle, sweets, etc.), baby food and drinking water are being distributed among thousands of affected people. Moreover, primary medical relief is also being provided to the victims. The relief work will be further expanded depending upon the then pressing situation.
While thanking all who contributed for this noble cause, we request others to come forward and donate liberally, to help us in this noble endeavour. We are very happy to inform that on 2nd June 2013, Sunday at 4.30pm newly constructed Bathroom-Toilet block was inaugurated by Sri Koppalkar, Group General Manager, MRPL at our Ramakrishna Mission Balakashrama.
Our heartfelt thanks to all the donors, because of their generous help the construction of the new block was successfully completed.
The ground floor has – bathrooms and toilets along with a store room, a room for hydro extractor etc.
First floor is having – classroom and recreation hall. A cloth drying yard is also getting completed on the roof top.

Inauguration of Academic Year and Distribution of Educational Aids
The current academic year of Vivekananda Coaching Center, which imparts tuition and value based education to deserving students of neighbouring area, was inaugurated on the 2nd June 2013, Sunday. Sri Koppalkar, Group General Manager, MRPL, Mangalore and Trustees and well wishers of the Math were present on the occasion. Educational aids amounting to about 1.5 lakhs like school bags, uniforms, note books, stationery items etc were distributed to about 150 deserving students.
Ramakrishna Mission at Mangalore has been running a free coaching centre, Vivekananda Coaching centre, to impart tuition and value based education to deserving students of neighbouring area for the past 7 years. The current academic year will be inaugurated at about 5 pm on the 2nd June 2013, Sunday. Sri P P Upadhya, MD, MRPL, Mangalore will be inaugurating the coaching centre and Sri Mizar Sadananda Pai will be distributing the educational aids like school bags, uniforms, note books, stationery items etc.

As the old Bathroom and Toilet of the Balakasharama(Hostel) building had deteriorated, the construction of the new block was taken up and has been completed with the help of generous donors.

We had organised “Panchamada Inchara – Viveka Smriti” – Hindustani Vocal Music Programme on 6th April2013 as a part of 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda in coordination with Chirantana Charitable Trust, Suratkal. Around 350 people attended the function.
We are organising Summer Camp “Vijaya Vihara” in this summer for the children. There will be workshops on wild life, clay modelling, craft, caricature, mask making, singing, mime, mimicry, magic etc
With lots of fun n funda children wil Play n Learn during the camp.

As a part of 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda we had organised 2 days “All Karnataka Youth Convention : Viveka Sphoorti – Yuva Bharati” on 22nd and 23rd December 2012. In this gala event more than 1600 delegates took part from more than 22 districts of the state. More than 1250 delegates were given accommodation.
