Vijaya Vihara – Summer Camp

kids-summer-camp2013We are organising Summer Camp “Vijaya Vihara” in this summer for the children. There will be workshops on wild life, clay modelling, craft, caricature, mask making, singing, mime, mimicry, magic etc

With lots of fun n funda children wil Play n Learn during the camp.

“Viveka Samsmriti : A Tribute to Swami Vivekananda” – A Report

We had organised “Viveka Samsmriti : A Tribute to Swami Vivekananda from 11th to 17th January 2013 as a part of 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda in coordination with Dept. of Youth Services & Sports, Govt. of Karnataka, D.K. District Administration, Swami Vivekananda 150th Janmavarsha Abhiyana Samiti, Mangalore and All India Radio, Mangalore. The programmes were a great success daily attended by thousands of people daily.

11th Viveka Chetana – Youth Programme was attended by around 1000 youths.

12th Viveka Sanchalana – Mega Youth Mela was attended by around 9500 youth. Around 7500 youth partook food on that day.

13th Viveka  Vandana – Yakshagana was attended by around 700 people.

14th Viveka Namana – Magic Show was attended by around 700 people.

15th Viveka Chinthana – Value Education Programme for Teachers’ was attended by around 650 Primary School Teachers.

16th Viveka Jagarana – Youth Convention was attended by around 700 youths.

17th Viveka Manthana – Teachers’ Convention was attended by around 650 Primary School teachers.

Viveka Sphoorti – Yuva Bharati : A Report

As a part of 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda we had organised 2 days “All Karnataka Youth Convention : Viveka Sphoorti – Yuva Bharati” on 22nd and 23rd December 2012. In this gala event more than 1600 delegates took part from more than 22 districts of the state. More than 1250 delegates were given accommodation.

Darshana – The Vision : A Report

We conducted the programme “Darshana – The Vision” on the 24th, 25th and 26th of September 2012 for Post Graduate Students, Degree Students and Degree Students(Girls) consecutively.  All together about 1800 students participated  in the programme.

Day 1 On the 24th the programme was inaugurated by Sri C T Ravi, Hon minister for Higher Education, Govt of Karnataka. Sri Ajai Kumar, Chairman & MD, Corporation Bank, Mangalore was the chief guest. Sri Monappa Bhandari, Member of Legislative Council, Karnataka also attended the programme. A documentary based on the Life and Works of Swami Vivekananda was shown.

Day 2 – On the 25th the programme was inaugurated by Sri Kota Srinivas Poojari, Hon Minster for Port & Inland Water Transportation, Govt of Karnataka. Capt Ganesh Karnik was the chief guest. There was a guided meditation and Bhajan session by Rev Swami Purnakamanandaji Maharaj. A special lecture by Sri Kajampadi Subrahmanya Bhat was arranged.

Day 3 – On the 26th Ms Shobha Karandlaje, Hon Minister for Energy, Govt of Karnataka inaugurated the programme. Dr Rameela Shekhar, Prof & Dean, PG Dept, Roshani Nilaya, Mangalore conducted the interactive session.

Swami Anupamanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Chandigarh addressed the gathering and Prof. Raghottama Rao, Manas Centre for Training & Academy , Bangalore conducted the interactive session based on ppt and short films on all the three days on different subjects.

All the participating delegates were given snacks, tea, lunch and complimentary booklets.

Value Education Programme – A Report

Ramakrishna Math, Mangalore conducted “Value Education Programme for Youths” on the 22nd and 23rd August 2012 for Pre-University Students. All together about 1300 students participated  in the programme.

On the 22nd the programme was inaugurated by Sri S S Kamath, President, Canara High School Association, Mangalore. Sri Basti Vaman Shenoy, President, Vishwa Konkani Academy, Mangalore was the chief guest.

On the 23rd, Srimat Swami Veetabhayanandaji, a senior monk of Ramakrishna order,  inaugurated the programme. Ms. Prabha Kamath, Principal, Canara P U College was the chief guest.

Prof. K Raghottama Rao (Chairaman, Manas center for training academy Bangalore) conducted the workshop on the theme – “Viveka-Ananda”.

All the participating delegates were given snacks, tea, lunch and complimentary booklets.

Sangeetotsava on 18th & 19th February

On the occasion of 175th Birth Anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna, Mangalore Ramakrishna Math is organizing 2 days’ Sangeetotsava on the 18th & 19th February in association with Sangeet Bharati Foundation, Mangalore.

On the 18th, Sri Kaushik Aithal (Disciple of Pandit Parameshwara Hegde) will be performing at 5.30 pm. This will be followed by Jugalbandhi by Sri Ashwin Walawalkar on Santoor and Sri Ankush Nayak on Sitar at 6.30 pm. Sri Satyavijay Bhat will accompany them on Tabla and Sri Narendra Nayak will be acompanying them on Harmonium.

On the 19th, Hindusthani Classical Vocal and Santvani by Pandit Jayateertha Mevundi at 5.30 pm. He will be accompanied by Sri Jagadessh Kurthkoti on Tabla and Sri Narendra Nayak on Harmonium.
